Griffin Structures Inc. expands its program management services to parks and recreation projects. In an atmosphere of rising costs, declining capacity of qualified contractors and heightened public expectations, public and private sector clients are increasingly hard pressed to deliver important recreation oriented amenities on time and on budget. Griffin Structures has been a leader in the delivery of quality projects for over 25 years.

Griffin Parks & Recreation Group is currently delivering a number of exciting projects in California and Nevada. The scope of these services includes needs assessment and programming, managing preparation of the master plan, construction management, and total program management. The following is a selection of notable projects managed by the Parks and Recreation Group.

Orange County Great Park – Irvine, California
Griffin performed needs assessment and programming for a 160 acre sports park that will be included in the initial Great Park delivery area. The scope of services included a multi-level public outreach program, development of a detailed program, economic and financial feasibility study as well as consulting issues related to development of the sports park.

Heritage Park – Henderson, Nevada
Griffin was retained by the City of Henderson, Nevada program managers to oversee development of a master plan for a 165 acre mixed-use sports and community park. Griffin organized and directed implementation of a master plan program that includes extensive internal and external stakeholder interviews, community meetings, and coordination of the City’s master plan consultant team. The project will be located on land owned by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and will be funded by the Southern Nevada Public Lands Management Act (SNPLMA). Griffin organized and directed the property acquisition through the BLM – Recreation for Public Purposes lease process.

90 Miles of Trails and Parks Program – Las Vegas, Nevada
Griffin was selected as program manager for this federally funded project that includes extensive trails, trailheads and urban cultural elements for the City of Las Vegas, Nevada. Griffin is providing turnkey delivery services including project component analysis and selection, design management, public outreach, construction management for eight projects with a total value of $20 million.

Brea Sports Park – Brea, California
The City of Brea selected Griffin to provide construction management services for delivery of a $17 million sports park to be developed on a former oil well site. When completed, the 25 acre park will feature lighted soccer, baseball, and softball fields. Griffin provided constructability review of the project, and is currently managing the construction work through delivery. Occupancy is planned for the 4th quarter of 2008.
