The Douglas Park project is transforming an unused Boeing aircraft manufacturing plant in Long Beach, California, into a dynamic mixed-use community of offices, commercial development, neighborhood retail, one of two hotels, and residential neighborhoods. Douglas Park builds upon the bold past of the Boeing Long Beach facility to create a brilliant future for the entire region.
Griffin is coordinating design for the master landscape improvements program for the project. Griffin's duties included design consultation and coordination between two landscape architecture firms, constructability reviews, horticultural consultations, and others. Extensive treatments are planned for the project including landscaped parkways and medians, project gateways, parks and open spaces.
